The Paramus mall announced "Real Housewives of New Jersey" star Melissa Gorga and "American Idol" Season 7 semi-finalist David Archuleta will both be at the event on Saturday, Nov. 9.
The event will also feature a 200-drone show and live performances from some of your favorite movie characters and holiday icons, the mall said.
Santa is expected to make his grand entrance on a fire truck. Guests can grab food from food trucks, enjoy exclusive one-day and weeklong deals and discounts, and spin the giant prize wheel.
Big Santa's history runs deep at the Plaza, where the giant holiday icon sat perched during the holiday season from the 1950s through the early 1980s, smiling at motorists along Route 17. The 51-foot Santa debuted on the chimney top in 1957, the same year that the mall opened, former Westfield GSP spokeswoman Lisa Herrmann told NJ Advance Media.
The mall did away with the jolly Christmas character in the 1980s when adopting retail trends, the article says. Santa's big return came in 2018 when the Plaza redid its holiday decor.
A 45-foot replica of Bergen County's giant Santa has been sitting atop the mall ever since, and we hope he's here to stay.
